My Journey with Horses
Early Passion for Horses I really liked horses when I was about 3 or 4 years old. I rode a small horse at a fair and fell in love with them. I didn’t have a horse of my own when I was a kid, but I went to a riding school when I was five and made friends with horses there.
Choosing a Different Path Despite my passion for horses, I initially followed societal expectations by studying Industrial Engineering and Management at university. However, after graduation, I realized my heart was still with horses, not in my field of study. So I shifted away from my learned field to pursue my true passion and bought my first horse: Mella.
Becoming a Horse Trainer My journey as a horse trainer began with a dream of giving back to horses what they had given me in my younger life. Observers of my work with Mella encouraged me to support them with their horses. Starting without clients or funds, I agreed to be paid only for successful outcomes. I faced difficult horses, learned from each experience, and grew as a trainer.
I transitioned from western to dressage riding, prioritizing the partnership between rider and horse over a specific discipline.
I kept on learning from each horse I got in training and shared the journey with many of them on social media. My unstructured training approach grew into the structured Feather Light Academy, where I share my training principles, journey’s with the horses, and advice through videos and lessons.
Bridging Humans and Horses Through the Feather Light Academy With the launch of Feather Light Academy, my goal is to give a helping hand to as many people as possible. Through this platform, I am committed to sharing my knowledge and techniques that help us to create a brighter future for horses. Together, we can make the world a better place for horses.

A New Chapter

After eight incredible years of building, renovating, and creating everything from scratch, I’ve made a big decision: it’s time to leave behind the place that has been my home and my dream. What started as an outdated, almost empty property grew into a fully equipped training center with stables, paddocks, arenas, a completely renovated indoor arena where I could train, and a fully redone canteen where everyone could gather during events. We even built a brand-new barn.
In the beginning I ran a 24/7 training stable and every box was full. I loved it and I wanted to help as many horses as possible, but there was a waiting list of seven years. I was training horses literally every hour of the day and still couldn’t help enough people. That’s when I realized I needed a new approach. The Academy became my focus because through it I can help so many more riders understand and connect with their horses, giving them the tools to help their own horses themselves.
In this video, I want to share why I chose a new place that fits this chapter of our lives perfectly. There is more space and nature, a wonderful home for our horses, and a safe, happy place for James to grow up. Leaving this old place is emotional, but I’m also excited for this next chapter that finally feels like home.

The New Stable
“A place to settle, breathe, and call home.”
In this video, I would love to welcome you to our new home, a place full of history and character. Built in the 1800s, it may be smaller and more intimate than our previous location, but it feels exactly right. From here, I have a beautiful view over my own horses every single day, and that means more to me than I can express.
With more land for the horses this is not just a new location, it is the start of a new chapter for us and for the horses.
